Sweet summertime is back and we are celebrating the warm weather with outdoor activities at many of our shopping centers across the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. One particularly fun initiative is “Drink in the Good Life” at Village at Leesburg, permitting guests of legal age to purchase their favorite alcoholic beverages at a participating restaurants and walk throughout the Village at Leesburg with their drink in hand. Since this project rolled out earlier this year, we wanted to check in with this Loudoun County retail destination to see how “Drink in the Good Life” is going.
“Drink in the Good Life elevated the consumer experience and has transformed the center into a unique gathering place for residents of the area. This summer, we have seen most adults attending the weekly live music at Plaza Party have a drink in hand,” said Courtney Tolson, Rappaport’s Marketing Manager who oversees the marketing and public relations’ efforts for Village at Leesburg.
Restaurants such as Vino Bistro report increased sales during events and customer reception is overwhelmingly positive. The initiative enables interconnectivity between the retailers as shoppers start in one space and stroll to another, cultivating a neighborhood atmosphere rather than a transitory experience in which consumers visit one retailer then leave.
