With the recent announcement that Henry Fonvielle was recognized as the Chair for the Atlas Gala this year, we thought we would highlight a few fun facts about Team Rappaport’s fearless leader and president of seven years:

  1. Avid Skier – Okay, maybe you noticed that his car has “SKIER” on the license plate. That being said, Henry travels far and wide to hit the slopes, recently skiing last July(!) in Mount Hood, Oregon and Utah this past March.  Considering he got his start at the age of 29, Henry is proficient and passionate about the sport and was a ski instructor at one point.  He has even helped fellow Team Rappaport members’ children learn the basics.
  2. Originally a Stock Broker – Henry got his professional start as a stock broker. The competitiveness of the trade stuck with him, but he shifted to commercial real estate shortly after and, today, has over 30 years of experience in the retail industry.
  3. Tennis Aficionado – Another big activity in the Rappaport president’s wheelhouse is tennis. Having served as a Vice Chair of the Board for the Washington Tennis and Education Foundation, Henry enjoys his time on the court and takes pride in teaching as much as he can.
  4. Biking Enthusiast – Ever the athlete, Henry can regularly be seen biking in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. This Saturday, he is even participating in the MD Komen Promise Ride, supporting breast cancer awareness and research while reveling in one of his many favorite pastimes.
