This week, Team Rappaport took ICSC Mid-Atlantic Conference & Deal Making by storm on March 4th and 5th.  Held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, the annual two-day International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) exhibition included dozens of exhibitors in the retail industry.

The Executive, Leasing and Brokerage teams met with multiple current and prospective clients to make some deals.  This year, we featured several new and prominent properties and tenants such as The Shoppes at Summit Centre, The Maren, Bethesda Place, Tysons 3, B.Good, Blink Fitness and Bojangles.  Notable deals highlighted include new-to-market The Candle Bar in Georgetown, Potomac Festival signed Texas Roadhouse, Festival at Riva welcoming Chop’t and many more.

Two of the main events were moderated by members of the Rappaport team.  Executive Director of Brokerage, Mike Howard, hosted “Family Feud: Developers versus Retailers”, a showdown of knowledge between two distinct groups within the industry.  One of the panels of “Retailer Runway”, a conference focused on specific retailers, their business strategies, and predictions for the future of retail, was moderated by Rappaport’s Director of Leasing and Brokerage, Alex Shiel.
