The long-awaited annual H Street Festival is back! As Avec’s residents gear up to begin moving in this fall, hundreds of thousands of attendees will be the perfect backdrop to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Beloved for its eclectic and artsy atmosphere, the H Street Corridor is rich in history and culture that permeates other neighborhoods throughout the city. What was once devastated by riots in 1968 and slow to regain its footing has since revitalized to become the cultural heart of the city, pulsating to the offbeat and avant-garde vibes of its inhabitants and visitors.
We are proud to be a part of this community’s resurgence, witnessing its incredible evolution since the purchase of H Street Connection retail center with the Lustine family in 1986. Today, the H Street Festival attracts people far and wide to experience the energy of H Street in the District’s largest annual event. Other iconic landmarks, such as the Atlas Performing Arts Theater, keep people coming back for more.
The party will keep on going from the H Street Festival on September 21st to the Atlas Gala on October 3rd. This year, Rappaport’s President, Henry Fonvielle, is being recognized as the Atlas Chair for the event due to his ongoing support for Atlas District and H Street Corridor as a whole.
