Home fashion has found a new hub in the DC Metro area. Homesense, a TJX brand, is coming to Annapolis Plaza and Fair Lakes Promenade. Rappaport Brokers Bill Dickinson and Jim Farrell represented the landlord at Annapolis Plaza. Jim Farrell also represented the landlord at Fair Lakes Promenade. The HomeGoods spinoff will offer a wider selection of furniture, lighting, art and gifting departments.

Homesense US, which shares a name with its counterpart Homesense, a popular TJX chain in Canada and Europe, started in the states with its first location in Massachusetts earlier this year. The retailer is rapidly growing down the coast with locations in New Jersey, New York and now Maryland and Virginia. Annapolis Plaza is the second Homesense location in Maryland with the first opening in Columbia, Maryland, at the end of June. Fair Lakes Promenade is the retailer’s first location in Virginia.

The coming of Homesense, which is expected to open this fall, launched a center expansion at Annapolis Plaza adjacent to Annapolis Mall. The expansion will bring 14,450SF of additional retail to the center along Mall Ring Road just steps from the mall. This expansion offers retailers the opportunity to benefit from the superregional draw of a lively retail hub and proximity to world-class brands such as Nordstrom, Apple and Macy’s.

Fair Lakes Promenade is almost fully leased with just one 2,161 SF Space remaining.
