On your mark. Get set. Let’s go! For another year, Rappaport will be participating in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF) Real Estate Games, sponsored by the Washington, D.C., area real estate community. On Thursday, June 7, Rappaport and 130 other real estate companies will come together at American University to compete in a series of athletic events, while raising awareness and money to fund further research for type 1 diabetes (T1D).

The Real Estate Games were founded in 1989 and the first event was held in 1990. JDRF has since become the leading global organization focused on T1D research, in hope that one day we can live in a world without the impacts of T1D. Every day, 40 children in the U.S. alone are diagnosed with T1D. Last year the Washington D.C.’s real estate community raised $525K for diabetes research.

It truly is all fun and games. Events, ranging from basketball to the always exciting tug-of-war, will begin Thursday morning and continue throughout the day. Coming off his impressive 2nd place finish in the 100M Dash at last year’s games Scott Price, Vice President of Property Management, is eager for another shot at 1st place. “It is always fun to come together and have fun with colleagues, all while supporting and raising awareness for a great cause,” Price explained.

Trevor Ferkler, Senior Creative Designer, has designed a t-shirt that not only shows Rappaport’s team spirit but also our support to improving the lives of those impacted by T1D. This year’s theme displays our togetherness as a company and as a real estate community, as we will be “RAPPing our strength around T1D.”

The Rappaport team is thrilled to continue to support JDRF and its mission to find a cure for T1D. Be sure to follow us on Twitter @RappaportCo to keep up with live updates on events, results and all the fun we will be having while competing at this year’s JDRF games.
